I Just Want To BE OK!!

I couldn't of said it better myself, thank you Ingrid!!

I love Ingrid Michaelson! She always seems to be able to sing about how I am feeling. This month has seemed to be a bit of a roller coaster for our family. We have had wonderful highs, but with that comes really low lows!
Today our roller coaster took us to a new level of low. John sadly was laid off. I cant say that we did know that it would come, but it was still unexpected.
We have been very blessed for John to have been working this long. Everyone except for John and the Foreman on his crew were laid off back in November. So to have been able to work and maintain a 40hr work week for the most part for the past 3 1/2 months has been an incredible blessing. Now we join the millions of others who are out of work and seeking employment. Our hope is that at least within a month he will be working again or I will be be washing windshields at the stop lights. Sorry all I can do is laugh and pray for something to turn up!!

By the way if you haven't heard it already, you need to listen to #2 on my play list! I tell ya, it's like she is in my head!!!

The Aliens Have Landed! dun dun dun

Our family loves to go on walks, and about a year and a half ago we extended our walks to the desert just outside our neighborhood. After we did this, Bradley started to talk about "THE ALIENS" John and I were so thrown off and confused, we had no idea what he was talking about until we went for another walk in the desert. So then of coarse John and I have fed into his imagination and started to point out things like a garden hose and said that "it must be an alien baby and when it rained it must have gotten stuck and was accidentally left behind." Or the strange forms in the dirt must be where their ship had landed. Its great because Jaden has also made some findings of her own. I love listening to the creative things that my kids come up with and watch them grow and stretch their imaginations. I hope that this never ends.

on the left is the "ALIEN SPAWN" a.k.a. garden hose and
on the right is Jaden's discovery, alien markings on the rock. I wonder what it means?????

HEEEEELLP!!!!

My 2 year old is driving me CRAZY with his monkey skills! He can climb up onto the counter all by himself with no help from anyone or anything. What am I to do? This morning I came downstairs to knives all over my counter top. We keep our knives on top of the fridge. I am soo worried that if I leave the room for any amount of time that he will get seriously hurt! How can I keep him from climbing onto the counters? Do any of you deal or have any dealt with this and what are you or have you done to stop it? Right now I feel like nothing will work short of tying him up with rope!

My Baby is 2!!!

Owen celebrated his 2nd birthday on the 21st of January. This was really hard for me, because I'm normally pregnant again by this point so I dont have to say goodbye to the baby stage for long. Being that I'm not pregnant and dont plan to be, until school is out at least, having him turn 2 and offically be deemed a toddler is a lot a bit sad for me! So I wanted to write down a few things I dont want to ever forget!

Owen you are such a BOY! So I guess loving dirt is a given. You are a little monkey the way you climb onto counters and get into the cupboards, consuming all you find within them. Since you were able to crawl, you have been wrestling your brother and your sister. I think that your favorite thing to say would be "sha up" to everyone. This drives me absolutey crazy! I think that you like to drive Mommy crazy though! Especially when you color all over my walls.

I love it when you talk, except of coarse when you say "shut up." I love the way your little voice sounds. I love it when you pretend to be a puppy and bark and make licking noises. It's so cute!! You have the best laugh and a talent for getting out of trouble. When you are told to say sorry, you rub your own head and say sorry. And that makes me laugh.

I am so blessed to be your mother. You have brought so much joy into our home. I am going to miss the baby stage, but I am excited to continue to watch you grow and discover new things. I love you Little Little!

Then...

and Now...
