A Whole Bunch of EVERYTHING!!!
Hmmmm, where to begin? I guess I'll start with Grandpa! He has been home now for 3 weeks and is doing well. It is truly amazing how the body can heal itself if you just let it. He is not fully out of the woods, but I don't think that he will ever be. I am just so thankful for the extra time our family has with him and pray that it lasts for a few more years. He was able to get out of the house on Thanksgiving, and it wasn't going to another doctors appt. It was to my brother Josh's to eat some Turkey day grub. MMmmmm lovin the grub!
School. I have been going for the last 3 weeks and what can I say besides I L.O.V.E. it. John has been very supportive! I never come home to a house that's torn-up even if its torn-up before I leave. Believe me, he knows how much I appreciate him!! I am in the most wonderful class with an amazing instructor, Miss Jeannine. I am so grateful to also be going with Katie. She made the decision to go to school so much easier and has helped make the transition easier as well. We have learned so much already and yet we haven't even skimmed the surface. I look forward to going everyday. Miss Jeannine doesn't skip a beat and keeps us moving right along so everyday we are learning something new. Thursday we are doing our color wheel. I can't wait to dive into some color!! I love you fabulous HAIR!!! Really! Whats not to love?!
Twilight!!! What??? Really that's the best that they could do?? I cant say that I hated it, but I didn't love it that's for sure! I know that the movie is never going to be as good as the book, but I did expect more. So it was a bit of a let down for me. I do think that it had a lot of potential, I think that it was the directing and editing that didn't work for me. I did see it twice however, with friends and then with my sisters and John, who is know reading New Moon. I am happy that they green lit New Moon, I just hope that the budget will be a bit bigger so maybe it will be better then Twilight. I will say I laughed through the whole movie. Actually I feel that it was more of a spoof on the book, really when Edward smells Bella walking into the biology classroom- I laughed so hard I nearly peed my pants!
I had to say "Goodbye for now" to one of the most wonderful people I know, Casi Nish. Casi had leukemia 4 times over the past 4 years and while some may say he lost the battle, I say he won! He was a hero and never took anything for granted. He was an example to us all on how life should be lived in the best and the worst of times. He will be missed by many, and never forgotten.
We had Thanksgiving at our house this year with Johns family. We had a great time filling our bellies and then playing some Wii. Jaden and Bradley were lucky enough to be able to go home with Grandpa and Grandma and stay the night. Thanks to them, John and I were able to hit the stores on BLACK FRIDAY dun dun dun, (sorry couldn't resist) to do some Christmas shopping.
The rest of our weekend was spent decorating for Christmas. John is sick of lights and I couldn't be happier. I love that man!!!
Oh! I almost forgot about the CRAZY fog that we had on Friday morning. When John and I were leaving to do our Christmas shopping, this is what we came outside to. It was completely gone at 8am, but we never get fog so I had to take some pictures or I wouldn't believe it myself!!

Halloween
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, second only to Christmas of coarse!! The weeks leading up to Halloween though made it really hard to get into this year, but that's life! Busy busy busy!!! The up side is that it doesn't take much to still have a good time and that we did!!
We went to Jaden's Fall Festival at her school, something we look forward to every year now. The kids had a lot of fun seeing their friends and playing all of the carnival games. I was volunteering at the popcorn and hot cocoa booth part of the night, so unfortunately I didn't get to take pictures like I wanted. Bummer! We all still had a great time anyhow so all is well!
On Wednesday Bradley had his school party. He had a great time playing with his friends and eating cupcakes. After school, his class paraded for us parents in their costumes.
Jaden had her class party on Thursday. They enjoyed eating hot dogs, cake, cookies, jello made to look like eyeballs, and some veggies while listening to Halloween music and playing bingo.
Halloween day was really busy! I made witch finger bread sticks while John and the kids carved pumpkins. Sadly I didn't get any pictures of them carving their pumpkins and it just donned on me that I didn't even take any pictures of the finish product! I am so mad at myself right now!! Man that stinks!!!
After that we headed over to my parents house for dunch (dinner+lunch=dunch). Jeremy and Katie came into town for the weekend. It was great to have them here to join in the Halloween fun. We ate lots of good food. Thanks Mom and Dad for the poor man dinner it was yummy!! After food and a game of charades, it was off to our ward Trunk or Treat for the long waited for candy!!
With the lack of funds this year all of our costumes, besides Bradley's, was thrown together with what we already had. Which in my opinion makes it even better and the cost of costumes now are absolutely ridiculous!! So this is what we ended up being this year: John was the Love Machine a.k.a. himself he didn't dress up this year and when he was asked what he was, that was his reply. Jaden was Hannah Montana, of coarse. She had a wig, but it was to itchy so she took it off, before we got any pictures of her in it. Bradley was Iron Man!! He loved his costume and when in it, he was NEVER out of character. Owen was a Cowboy Sheriff and also a little trigger happy. And as for me, I was The Amazing Bearded Lady.
Now we look forward to my third favorite holiday... Thanksgiving!
side note: I don't know why, but now whenever I upload pictures, they show up as text on my editing page. If anyone knows why this is or how to fix it, please let my know because it's driving me CRAZY!! Thank you.

Update on Grandpa!
I just got back from the hospital seeing Grandpa. He looks sooo much better!! They were able to take out his breathing tube yesterday. It's so good to hear his voice!!! Today they put in a pick line, so they don't have to keep poking him like a pin cushion every time they need to take blood. I'm so happy he is doing better!
Saturday night he was communicating through pen and paper, because he was still hooked up to the breathing machine, and he wrote, "I'm going to make it!" This made everyone breath easier. Knowing that he is fighting gives us all the hope we were trying hard to hold onto.
Sunday I picked Grandma up in the morning to go visit him. I forgot to set clock back, so I was an hour early. It was nice to have some alone time with Grandma, I haven't had that in a long time.
I never thought that you could get yelled at on paper and it have the same effect as it would if someone were really yelling at you. It does!! Along with all of Grandpa's other problems he is also a bit deaf, so you have to talk loud to him. I guess that I was doing a poor job because he kept signaling to write something and when he did it said really big, "TALK LOUD!!!" It kind of reminded me of the howler Ron Weasley gets from his mom in Harry Potter. It made me laugh, because if he could yell at me on paper, then he must be doing a little better!
The nurses are absolutely amazing!! They are taking the best care of him. I love you Jacki and Natalie you are the best nurses Valley Hospital's SICU could have and I am so glad that you are caring for my Grandpa!
Thank you all so much for your prayer and your kind words of encouragement. Please continue to pray for him. He is a very sick sick man and if he gets to come home, it will be one of God's miracles!!

An UP Hill Battle
About 5 months ago my Grandpa was diagnosed with Temporal Arteritis
( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temporal_arteritis ). He was very fortunate because, had this disease gone undiagnosed the Doctors said that he would have been dead in a week.
Immediately he was put on Prednisone and at a high dosage. My Grandfathers health has been deteriorating ever sence. The medication that he needs to live has also been the cause of his other health problems. Since he has been on the prednisone he has been diagnosed with: Diabeties, Congestive Heart Failure, has had blood clots in his lungs, and just had surgery this morning to remove part of his colon.
My Grandpa is a very strong man, but he has been through hell and back again. Because of all of these problems he has no energy, he can stand but cant walk, he is in pain, and has become depressed and discouraged.
His Doctor wants to leave him on the breathing machine for a couple of days depending on his progress and put in a colostumy bag that he will need for about 3-6 months. His Doctor wants to remain hopeful, but stressed that he is a very sick man.
It has been so hard to watch him and my Grandma go through this. While waiting for him to come out of recovery my Grandma said to me with tears filling her eyes, "I've known him my whole life, when you get to be our age and you know whats waiting for you on the other side you think to yourself, 'Whats the point!' I'm worried he wont fight!" It breaks my heart to see her pain and watch her try to be strong.
My Grandparents dropped everything and were there for my Father and us kids when my Mom past away. I pray for the strength so I can be there for them now.

I'm an Esme!

Take the Quiz and Share Your Results!
Thank you Emily for this. It was fun to find out what character I am most like in the Twilight World.
So funny! I decided that I wanted to see who John was most like, and found out that we are a perfect match in both fiction and non-fiction

Guess What Everybody.......
I'm finally going to go to Beauty School!!! Euphoria Institute of Beauty Arts and Science. I'm so excited I can hardly stand it! I have wanted to go to Beauty School since I was a little girl. I should have listened to my parents and gone to VoTech when I was younger, but who listens to their parents when their a teenager??
I am already enrolled, I just need to meet with the Director next Wednesday to figure out loans and grants, then I'm on my way!
School starts November 10th and my classes are Monday- Thursday 5pm-10pm. So it's a perfect fit for my family. I'll still be able to do all of my mommy and wife duties!WooHoo!!! Another awesomely great thing, is that I found out yesterday that one of my friends is going too! I really happy that I'll have someone there that I already know and that has the same values that I do! Another WooHoo!!!
P.S. If anyone wants to contribute to my tuition ($18,000), I am now accepting donations. Thank you!! ;)

BIG ouch
Yesterday, John and I went to Josh and Cassidy's new house to help them move. All was going great until Owen decided that he preferred being outside rather than inside. On his way back inside he tripped over his feet and fell nose first on the step leading into Josh and Cassidys house. OUCH!!! I thought that he had broke it for sure because he had a dent on the bridge, but luckily he didn't it's just really swollen. After about a half hour of me holding him down to put ice on it, he was up and running and continued to fall down. Josh started to sing "Owen the red nosed little boy!" Maybe he'll have to be Rudolf for Halloween!

Soccer
Jaden started playing soccer in the beginning of fall. At first she had wanted to quit because it was all new to her and she felt it was to hard for her. I told her that I wanted her to finish out the season and then if she never wanted to play again, she wouldnt have to. She came to me about 3 weeks ago telling me that she loves soccer and that she in so happy that I wouldn't let her quit.
Alot of the girls on her team were on her softball team aswell and she has the same coach which I think is great! Her coach is really good about constuctive criticism and making their team unified!
I am so proud of her for agreeing to stick it out and happy that she is enjoying playing soccer now. I honestly would have let her quit if I hadn't spent $100.00 signing her up and for her uniform. Because of this I have been reminded of a lesson that I learned along time ago, but had forgotten. That we should always try new things and you shouldn't give up just because something is hard. Not everything we do is going to be easy, but if we work at it and give it our all then our reward will be all the greater in the end!

What happened to my CHILDREN??????

Every fall when my Mom starts to decorate for Halloween she asks all of my brothers and sisters to give her silly pictures of our kids for her walls.
In years past Jami, Josh, and Cassidy have done this for me because I didnt know how to use the program, but this year I did it myself!!!! Yippy for me!! :)

This time the RUMORS were True!!!
Over the past year there have been rumors of a split, but it never happened. Our ward just continued to grow and grow. Now that we have split at the seams we have finally split for real.
The good thing is is that we still have the same bishopric. They were all recalled to preside over the newly formed Shadow Ridge Ward.
I will miss everyone in our old ward (especially the Young Woman you all have a place in my heart!), but we still share the building and our kids still go to the same schools.
I am looking forward to this change, with change comes growth. It couldnt have come at a better time!

My How You've Grown!!!

Today is my little Jaden's 7th birthday. Her and I love to pull out her photo albums and look at them on her birthday and reminisce. It's crazy how time has flown by! And she is already telling me that she cant wait until 16 to drive and date!!! Date!? What!? I thought that I wouldn't hear that kind of talk until she is at least, well I don't know, but I sure as heck wasn't expecting it NOW!
She is such a big help! Always watching out for her little brothers' and setting a good example for them!
I love having her as my daughter! She is a girlie girl whose not afraid to get her hands dirty! She's has a pretty creative mind and she is always asking questions.
